It never goes as planned…

I was going to clean up yesterday, Sam decided to do schoolwork.

I was going to make supper before lunch to avoid the rush… supper came out of the microwave as hubby came in the door from work.

I was going to fold laundry last night while he played with the girls… I fell asleep on the couch.

Some unplanned things are for the better. I had NO intention of going outside yesterday, but couldn’t help but notice that it was 57 outside and I decided to let them go out to ride their bikes. It will be freezing and yucky soon enough, might as well let them play while they can.

I did, however, manage to find the living room and washed a few more loads of laundry. I’m getting anxious to pack up all the Christmas decor so I might try to tackle that today.

When do you take down your stuff? Right away or after the New Year?

My sister is a neat-freak and takes hers down the day after Christmas. My daughter has begged and begged for me to leave ours up until the weekend after the New Year. But I think we’ll take it down this weekend. Hey, unexpected things happen all the time, don’t they? How we deal with those times is key. Do we roll with the punches or get all worked up and stressed. I do both. My tendency is stress, but I’m working on my rolling technique!

I’m secretly hoping that my hubby will take down the outside lights again this year. The first year we were here the lights stayed up for three years! The color faded off and they were WHITE! Last year he put up new ones and took them down, but he was a SAHD at the time and had a little time on his hands…. hopefully tomorrow will be warm enough for him to climb up there and take them down. I’m sitting here staring at the tree and I definitely feeling that it must come down today!

Maybe it’s the thrill of a new baby coming, but I’ve got the urge to clean and purge my house 🙂 Too bad I’m not supposed to move furniture… it’ll take weeks to convince hubby to help me do that!
