What a Roller Coaster!
Last New Years I was at work full time and hubby was a Stay at Home Dad…. He did great, however, I thank God above that these rolls are now reversed. Late Spring he was offered an amazing job as a LAN/WAN “something or another” sorry honey and I very quickly quit mine (that’s a whole other post right there… maybe a novel). This was to be my third round of being Stay at Home Mom and man oh man, I definitely wouldn’t have it any other way!
Our tiny tiny church had their first Vacation Bible School in over 15 years and it was a smashing success with NINE kids accepting Christ! I was hesitant about being the music coach, I had hoped to be the crafts coach because that is what I’m good at, that is what I know. God had other plans and after a tearful prayer off the trunk of my car the day VBS started I totally surrendered, stopped being angry that I wasn’t getting to do what I wanted and let God speak to those children through me. I am NO music teacher, but if that’s where He wanted me the so be it, who am I to aruge. I ended up having the time of my life…. such exhaustion!
My mom and I started a challenge to see who could clear more junk out of their house, which contributed to the birth of this blog, and well… I’m not sure, but I think I’m winning….
Samantha: The six year old Princess- This year she lost her first tooth, the natural way. Big change from the four she had to have pulled! Odd thing, that one has grown in already, we still don’t have our four top teeth… well, maybe next year. She started Kindergarten (her birthday is after the threshold… she turned six on Halloween) and after the first round of report cards we made the decision to pull her out and begin homeschooling. Nothing wrong with her teacher—-LOVED HER— still love her… just a personal choice. Sammy is doing great and most of her work is now at a first grade level. It was so awesome to have her read to me while I napped yesterday.
Savvy Jo: The three year old superhero- This is the year Jolene decided to become obsessed with superhero’s…more specifically Spiderman…She also lost her hamster to a devastating accident and convinced Daddy to replace it with two RATS… yep, RATS… Well, I had to let him get her something, the hamsters original purpose was a gift after her surgery to remove her top four teeth… I still have two toothless wonders in my house 🙂 She also became totally potty trained this year! GO JO!
Last but not least: On Christmas Eve we found out that we were expecting another baby in August 08… glad I cleared out the house some… still not sure where to put another one but feeling blessed beyond words.
Now,who to tag this time?
Happy New Year Everyone!
